2018 Spring Fest

The Santa Fe Museum's new kitchen and deck were used for the first time during our annual Spring Fest held on the second Saturday in April.

Although we experienced unusually high wind, cold temperatures, and even sleet, the Spring Fest was enjoyed by many, though we spent more time inside the museum than we usually do!  Demonstrations included beekeeping, gardening techniques, candle-making, learning to play the banjo, and spinning.  Performers included students of the Performing Fine Arts of Sealy, Jason Chapman, songwriter and singer, and Curt Locklear, author, storyteller and banjo artist, and Wawel, a Polish folk dance group.

The Spring Fest features music, dance, storytellers, vendors selling hand-made items, old-fashioned games such as egg tosses, hoop & stick races and scavenger hunts, plant sales by the Bluebonnet Master Gardeners, demonstrations, balloon artists, train rides, parades and other activities.  There is something for all ages.  Photos below were taken at various past Spring Fests.
